Sync-in 2.0 launches with OIDC authentication, desktop overhaul, and LDAP upgrades

Sync-in 2.0 has been launched, bringing OpenID Connect (OIDC) support to the self hosted sync and sharing platform. The release adds federated authentication through OIDC compatible identity providers, enabling integration with enterprise single sign on environments and modern identity platforms. This is a breaking change because authentication used in Sync-in 1.x is not compatible with 2.0.

Desktop and CLI authentication were rebuilt around the new OIDC based model. Both now use OIDC flows and support OTP recovery codes and application passwords during device enrollment and sign in.

LDAP integration also gets several upgrades, including optional service accounts, automatic permission assignment, expanded admin group configuration, and “break glass” administrator access. Group resolution now supports groupOfNames in addition to memberOf. Sync-in 2.0 also adds JSON log output via a jsonOutput option, clearer configuration error messages, a redesigned recent items page, automatic file rename apply on click outside, and a simpler reverse proxy setup by removing an Nginx WebDAV hook tied to X Forwarded Proto.
