Stremio releases full-featured sideloadable IPA app for iOS, iPadOS, and Apple TV

Stremio, known for its video streaming capabilities, has released a sideloadable IPA app for iOS, iPadOS, and Apple TV. This move allows users on Apple platforms to access the app by downloading and installing the IPA file directly from Stremio’s official downloads page. The new app provides a full-featured experience, offering all functionalities available on the Android version and surpassing those in the earlier Stremio Lite version for iOS.

While iOS users can now enjoy a broader set of features, there are some restrictions. Due to Apple’s policies regarding sideloaded applications, certain features such as Apple login and handoff have been disabled in this version. These limitations stem from Apple’s requirements on apps that are not distributed via the official App Store channel.

Alongside the release, Stremio’s team has clarified that they are still waiting for Apple’s response about potentially bringing Stremio Lite back to the App Store. In the meantime, users seeking the full Stremio feature set on iOS or Apple TV will need to use the sideloaded version.
