PeaZip 10.9 released with improved file manager, overhauled text & image viewers, and more
PeaZip 10.9 debuts as the latest update to this free, open-source file manager and archiver, expanding its toolset for cross-platform users. This version adds new alternative context menus and lets users assign custom actions to the middle mouse button, while introducing new keyboard shortcuts to streamline navigation. Additional improvements target internal drag and drop responsiveness and simplify working with RAR files and multivolume archives. The image viewer and text viewer have also been overhauled for a more consistent experience.
Along with these interface updates, PeaZip 10.9 upgrades its backend to Pea 1.29. This refresh delivers a renewed graphical interface for both Pea and Unpea functions, aimed at smoother operation and better integration. Following the backend updates, the codebase is now built with Lazarus 4.x but remains compatible with Lazarus 3.x and 2.x, supporting both contributors and users relying on older development environments.
PeaZip 10.9 further introduces fixes and small quality of life improvements to boost reliability and ease of use, underscoring its ongoing commitment to user-focused refinement.
