Lakka 6.1 brings LibreELEC 12.2, RetroArch 1.22.2, and CRT-optimized Raspberry Pi images
Nearly two years after version 5.0, Lakka 6.1 has been released for those seeking to transform lightweight hardware into a dedicated retrogaming console. This update is now built upon the LibreELEC 12.2 build system, introducing a modernized foundation, improved hardware support, and updates to drivers across the board.
Building on these core changes, Lakka 6.1 adopts the Linux kernel 6.18 LTS series, incorporating necessary upstream changes to ensure reliability on all compatible devices. Users will also find the latest stable iteration of RetroArch, version 1.22.2, which brings interface improvements, latency optimizations, and several quality-of-life enhancements. In addition, every existing Libretro core has been refreshed to the latest upstream version, and new cores have been added, significantly expanding the systems and experiences that can be emulated.
Focusing on ease for retro enthusiasts with original hardware, Lakka 6.1 now provides official Raspberry Pi images tailored for CRT televisions. These builds feature composite-optimized video output, calibrated analog timings, and preconfigured settings within RetroArch to deliver authentic CRT display behavior. Rounding out the release, users receive Mesa 25.1.9, a new set-up script, plus further enhancements and bug fixes.

That image... couldn't they at least have used a more recent model for such things? Like, that looks like DALL-E 3 from at least 2 years ago...
Wow this generated image is real slop...
