AI dictation tool Monologue launches iOS app with polished output & app based formatting
The AI voice dictation app Monologue, previously limited to macOS, has announced a new iOS version. The app targets faster writing by turning speech into polished text, rather than a raw transcript. It removes filler words and repetitions, adds punctuation automatically, and lets users quickly review the result before sending.
Monologue also adjusts its output to the app you are using, so for example it aims for short conversational messages in iMessage, clearer structured paragraphs for email, and more organized notes with lists and headings in Notes. The iOS version adds whisper mode for quieter dictation in public and a Notes option for longer voice memos with later summarization. For personalization, Monologue learns user-specific vocabulary like names, acronyms, and regional slang, and can sync this lexicon across iOS and Mac. The team also points to ongoing issues with Apple’s dictation for an Indian accent, especially in noisy environments, and positions Monologue as a more reliable option for different voice profiles.
Monologue for iOS is available now in the App Store and is included with an Every subscription, alongside other apps like Sparkle.
