Vivaldi 7.6 brings full tab bar customization & a global tab button for enhanced browsing
Vivaldi 7.6 introduces major improvements focused on expanding browser customization. Users now have full control over the tab bar: it is possible to configure the address bar, status bar, sidebar, theming, and mouse gestures individually, placing each exactly where needed. This update aims to make common browsing actions more easily accessible by letting users build a workspace that matches their habits.
Building on these customization options, Vivaldi brings in a new tab button. This tool serves as a centralized spot to find, switch, and recover tabs, replacing separate menus for synced and recently closed tabs. Its position on the tab bar is also user-adjustable, allowing for further interface flexibility.
Alongside the headline changes, Vivaldi 7.6 also includes several usability enhancements. The context menus have been streamlined for easier navigation. An upgraded address field introduces keyword shortcuts such as @tabs, @bookmarks, and @history for targeted searches. The built-in ad blocker now supports popup rules, increasing control over unwanted content. Windows users receive support for swipe gestures, improving navigation efficiency on trackpads and touchpads. Lastly, switching to hibernated tabs is now quicker, benefiting users who keep many tabs open.
