OpenProject 16.4 adds auto color mode sync, project list PDF export, custom fonts and more

Open source project management software OpenProject 16.4 introduces automatic color mode synchronization, allowing the interface to follow system preferences for light, dark, and high contrast modes. This update enhances accessibility and ensures users' visual settings mirror those of their operating system.

Users now have the option to export structured project lists as PDF reports. Subscribers to Enterprise Basic and higher can further customize documents by defining custom fonts for all PDF exports, offering greater flexibility for branding and consistency.

Meeting setup is now faster with user search and multi-select powered by autocomplete. During meetings, attendance can be efficiently tracked through toggle switches, including a Mark all as attended function. For organizations managing access, group memberships can now be synchronized directly from OpenID Connect (OIDC) providers, streamlining identity management processes.

While focusing on project finances, budget setup now permits defining a fixed base amount before entering detailed material or labor costs. Project lists have also been expanded to include planned budget, spent budget, percentage spent, and available budget, providing clearer insights at a glance.

Following these workflow upgrades, widgets on the Home and Project overview pages have been refreshed to further improve usability.
