Open source loop machine Giada 1.3 adds support for multiple audio ouputs beyond stereo
Giada 1.3.0, nicknamed “Jackalope”, marks the latest update to this free, open source, and cross-platform loop machine for music production. This release introduces several new features aimed at expanding creative and technical possibilities for musicians and live performers.
The most significant addition is the support for multiple audio outputs beyond stereo. Users can now configure several output channels, allowing each channel to feed external hardware or route signals internally to other software. This makes Giada more suited for multitrack recording and complex live setups. Building on this, improvements to JACK (the Jack Audio Connection Kit) now support multiple output connections.
Following these upgrades, the Plug-in Browser window has been improved and visually enhanced, simplifying navigation and management of audio plug-ins. Giada's graphical interface is now built on Fast Light Toolkit (FLTK) version 1.4.4, laying groundwork for better performance and future updates.
Some additional maintenance work, including code refactoring, is also part of this release.
