Mac utility PopClip introduces refreshed interface, new options, and support for macOS 26
PopClip 2025.9 delivers a substantial redesign for Mac users, featuring a separate settings window and improved menu bar integration. The menu bar icon now leverages the standard macOS menu instead of a custom popover. This change improves compatibility with menu bar management utilities like Bartender and allows users to permanently hide the PopClip icon without losing any functions, as all menu actions are now available in the updated settings window.
Following these interface changes, the PopClip action bar has received a refreshed appearance using the macOS vibrancy effect. This approach modernizes the tool and improves legibility when selecting text. The terminology update renames the former On/Off toggle to Appear automatically, making its behavior more clear and transparent.
Building on user customization, PopClip now supports per-website exclusions in compatible web browsers. Users can also exclude all apps by default and then opt-in for selected apps, where PopClip should appear. These options give finer control over when and where the tool activates.
With this release, PopClip introduces a streamlined update process, including a dedicated Check for Updates function, subtle notifications confined to the settings window, and a new optional automatic installation mode. PopClip 2025.9 is fully compatible with the upcoming macOS 26 Tahoe and now requires macOS 11 Big Sur or newer to run.
