Disney to raise Disney+, Hulu, and bundle prices this October amid censorship controversy
Disney has just announced its next round of price increases for Disney+ and Hulu, set to take effect on October 21. The Disney+ ad-supported plan will rise to $11.99 per month, while the Premium no-ads plan will reach $18.99 monthly or $189.99 annually. The Disney+ and Hulu ad-supported bundle will increase to $12.99, and bundles that include ESPN or HBO Max will also see higher rates. Full details are available on Disney’s support page.
This follows the last round of hikes in October 2024, when most plans rose by $1 to $2, continuing a steady climb since Disney+ launched in 2019 at $6.99 per month. For now the changes are limited to the US, with no updates on expansion to other regions yet.
The news comes as Disney faces backlash over ABC’s temporary removal of Jimmy Kimmel Live!, which triggered protests, boycotts, and subscriber churn. Although the show is returning this week, some affiliates still won’t air it, and announcing higher streaming prices at the same time has raised further criticism of Disney’s timing.

Seedboxes are $20 per month - they're getting pretty close lol
Theses price hikes are planned months in advance, when President mood is changing many times a day. It's just a bad coincidence. Still, $12 a month for ads, 1080p, on only 2 devices, and no downloads is a scam.
