Buffer releases major iOS 26 update with liquid glass, new widgets & a new Apple Watch app
Buffer has released its biggest update yet, redesigned for iOS 26 and Apple’s new Liquid Glass system. The app now features cleaner navigation, smarter widgets, improved onboarding, and session resumption so users can pick up where they left off. Channel switching has also been simplified with fewer modals, making everyday use faster.
The update introduces an Ideas Shortcut through Control Center or the iPhone Action Button, letting users capture post ideas instantly. Integration with Apple Shortcuts app enables automation, while new posting tools include per-channel goals with progress rings, queue counts across organizations, and a redesigned calendar day view showing all channels in one place.
A new Apple Watch app extends these features to the wrist, with the ability to capture ideas, check queues, and track streaks without a phone. Complications display goals and queue counts at a glance, while an Idea Composer makes phone-free idea capture possible, making daily check-ins faster and easier content management.
