Bluesky launches a new private bookmarks feature

Bluesky has introduced an official private bookmarking feature, allowing users to save posts for later. The feature is now accessible on both the Bluesky website and its mobile app, making it easy for users on any platform to manage saved content.

Saved posts are organized in a new dedicated 'saved posts' section, simplifying the process of revisiting content at any time. While Bluesky’s bookmarking system makes it easier to keep track of posts, it remains basic and lacks advanced organizational options such as folders or tags.

Previously, users relied on a workaround which used a custom 'pinned' feed and required replying to posts with a 📌 emoji. This approach was not private, as each saved post generated a public reply. To assist users transitioning from this workaround, Bluesky has added a migration tool. This feature allows users to convert their old 'pinned' posts to private bookmarks and decide whether to delete or retain previous public pins.
