Wine 10.13 brings new Joystick tab, more BCrypt algorithms, OpenGL WoW64 thunks, and more

The Wine project has released version 10.13, enhancing its compatibility with Windows applications on Linux, macOS, and BSD. Central to this update is a new Windows.Gaming.Input tab within the Joystick Control Panel. This feature provides gamers with greater control over hardware configurations, catering to those who require precise device tuning.

Addressing security and interoperability, Wine 10.13 now supports the ECDSA_P521 and ECDH_P521 cryptographic algorithms in the BCrypt library. This addition closely aligns Wine's cryptographic capabilities with those found natively in Windows, broadening the range of supported applications that depend on advanced encryption.

Alongside these improvements, OpenGL WoW64 thunks are now fully generated. This offering enhances interoperability for applications using both 32-bit and 64-bit OpenGL, moving the platform closer to complete Windows API compatibility. In parallel, development on Windows Runtime metadata handling in WIDL continues, supporting broader compatibility with Windows Runtime APIs.

With this release, Wine resolves 32 bugs that impact widely used programs, such as Microsoft Office 365, FL Studio, and multiple games. These fixes contribute to a smoother user experience and increased reliability across supported software.
