Immich 1.139 brings new image rendering pipeline, better backup asset tracking, and more
Immich has released version 1.139, introducing several enhancements and bug fixes for its self-hosted photo and video management platform. The update is notable for significantly improving the mobile experience. The mobile app now features a custom image loading and rendering pipeline that utilizes multithreading, resulting in greatly improved display of local images, particularly on Android devices.
Following these performance improvements, Immich 1.139 introduces a new way to track backup assets. Users can now view which assets remain in the backup queue, making it easier to identify and troubleshoot files that fail to upload.
In addition to these updates, the release makes it more efficient to handle duplicate assets. Users can now navigate back and forth between entries in the duplicate asset list. For those using Immich on the web, the album management workflow has received an upgrade: assets can now be added to multiple albums at once via the album selection modal.
