ForkLift 4.4 released with performance improvements, better visuals and enhanced stability
BinaryNights has released ForkLift 4.4, the latest version of its dual pane file manager and file transfer client for macOS. This update addresses critical performance and stability issues, including improved efficiency when updating recent folders in the sidebar, which now avoids the hangs that could previously occur during updates. Additionally, a crash in Column View on macOS Tahoe 26 has been resolved, contributing to a more stable experience for users on the latest version of Apple's operating system.
Expanding on file management features, ForkLift 4.4 adds the ability to view iCloud status icons in Column View. Status indicators for files stored locally and in the cloud now appear consistently across all three views, helping users always know the storage location of their files. Additionally, this release introduces a redesigned settings window that aligns with the style of macOS Tahoe 26. Visualization of spring-loading folders has been improved in Icon View, and menu icons are now shown only when running on macOS Tahoe 26.
The update also includes several other minor enhancements and bug fixes, further refining the overall user experience in ForkLift.
