Dashlane will end its Free Plan in September 2025. Users must upgrade or switch services
Dashlane has announced that its free plan will be discontinued on September 16, 2025. In a blog post, the company said the change will enable increased investment in advanced security features to defend against threats like AI-powered phishing. This move comes two years after free accounts were limited to 25 passwords per device.
Current free users must choose between upgrading to a paid tier or switching to a different password management service. Dashlane’s paid plans cost $59.88 annually for individuals and $89.88 for a Family plan (up to 10 users), with an upcoming "exclusive discount" teased for upgraders.
After the deadline, remaining free accounts will become read-only. Their only option will be to export passwords as a CSV file. Any stored passkeys, which currenty lack a standard portability method, will be inaccessible.
For those seeking free alternatives without major restrictions, popular options include Bitwarden, KeePassXC, and Proton Pass.

I've been using the Bitwarden $10 a year plan. Worth ever penny.
