Raycast introduces Chat Branching for AI Chats and OpenRouter Integration
Raycast latest update introduces experimental Chat Branching, letting users create alternate conversation paths from any point in AI chat history. These branches act like save points and can run in the background, allowing parallel exploration without losing the original thread. The feature is enabled by default and can be accessed with CMD + Shift + B or via the right-click menu, and managed in AI Settings → Experiments.
The update also adds support for OpenRouter as a custom AI provider, giving users access to a wide range of public models with usage-based billing and no subscription. To enable it, just add your OpenRouter API key under AI Settings → Custom Providers.
Other enhancements include a new clipboard command to sequentially paste copied items, support for Riverside and StreamYard in calendar events, a toggle to show AI tool call details, warnings for LLM provider incidents, preserved composer text when switching chats, and additional server environment info in the Manage Command Platform.
