OpenProject 16.2 refreshes navigation, adds SCIM API integration and boosts global support

OpenProject 16.2 delivers a modernized experience with refreshed sidebar and header navigation, offering users of this open source project management software a more contemporary interface. This update also ensures full compatibility with the openDesk application. Additionally, the process for creating or copying projects has been streamlined, simplifying essential project management workflows.

For enterprise users, the new release introduces seamless SCIM API integration as an add-on. This feature enables identity providers to automatically provision and de-provision users by following the open System for Cross-domain Identity Management (SCIM) standard. As a result, administrators benefit from less manual work, consistent user data, and improved security.

Extending accessibility and internationalization, PDF exports now fully support non-Latin scripts and emojis. This allows accurate representation of content in languages such as Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, and Korean in all exported documents. Following these enhancements, OpenProject 16.2 offers a setting for users to disable all keyboard shortcuts. This adjustment accommodates both those using screen readers or assistive technologies and users who wish to minimize accidental shortcut activation.

Further, the update includes numerous smaller tweaks designed to enhance the flow of everyday project management tasks.
