LM Studio is now free to use in professional settings, removing the need for separate licenses or prior approval. This change lowers barriers for workplace adoption, which previously required complex procurement or discouraged teams from using the tool altogether.

The terms of service have been updated accordingly, while the privacy policy remains unchanged. The decision reflects usage patterns observed over the past two years—millions of downloads and growing interest from enterprise teams that began using LM Studio personally before expanding to work environments.

LM Studio offers access to the app, SDK, and Hub for sharing projects, presets, and configurations. This week, users will be able to create public Hub organizations for free collaboration at work or school. For advanced needs like SSO, model gating, and private sharing, an Enterprise plan is available. A self-serve Teams plan will launch later this month.
