Patreon is increasing platform fees for new creators starting August 2025
Patreon is increasing its platform fees for new creators starting August 5, 2025, introducing a flat 10% fee on all newly created paid membership pages. This marks a price hike compared to the current 8% Pro and 12% Premium plans, which will be discontinued. Instead, Patreon will merge these into a single “Standard” plan with the new 10% rate.
The change applies only to creators who launch or expand to new pages after August 4, while existing creators who lock in the Pro rate before that date will keep their 8% fee for the lifetime of their existing page, provided they do not create new pages after August 4. For those requiring advanced features, Premium-level capabilities will now be offered via a 3% add-on, raising the total cost to 13% for access to those tools. Existing Premium plan participants will shift to a custom 'Pro + merch' plan at 11% if they maintain merchandise, or revert to 8% if they discontinue that offering.
Following the pricing updates, Patreon is also raising its included Patreon Video storage from a 100-hour lifetime cap to 100 free hours per month. In addition, the company is currently testing Live Video, a built-in livestreaming feature expected to expand to more creators later this summer.
