Jules adds support for AGENTS.md for repository-specific automation
Jules agent now supports the AGENTS.md file format, allowing it to adapt to each repository’s specific workflows and instructions. This enables more precise automation aligned with the project's unique configuration and reduces the need for generic behavior across different codebases.
The update makes Jules more autonomous and reduces the need for manual intervention. The agent is now less likely to abandon tasks mid-process, and it completes more actions independently. Environment setup has also improved, as Jules now consistently detects and runs setup scripts when present.
Backend improvements contribute to faster task execution and a smoother development experience, although no formal benchmarks were provided. Jules is also more reliable in generating and running tests automatically, supporting better code quality and improving compatibility with continuous integration workflows.
