1Password partners with AWS to bring Secrets Manager integration to all desktop users

1Password has introduced a new integration with Amazon Web Services that connects its desktop app directly to AWS Secrets Manager. This update streamlines the process of syncing secrets across multiple environments for joint 1Password and AWS users, allowing secure delivery of application secrets and environment variables directly to AWS Secrets Manager from within 1Password.

The integration is the first cloud connection rolled out in 1Password environments (currently in beta). This feature aims to provide a simplified and secure way to manage app secrets more efficiently, addressing a common need among development and operations teams. The release also marks the beginning of a long-term Strategic Collaboration Agreement between 1Password and AWS. According to the announcement, the agreement will focus on “accelerating innovation and expanding support” for customers who use both platforms.

For accessibility, this AWS Secrets Manager integration is available to all 1Password customers, regardless of their chosen plan or tier. Users simply need an active AWS Secrets Manager account in addition to a 1Password plan to begin using the new functionality.
