Writing app Ulysses 38 is out with library customization, new group icons, and bug fixes
The latest Ulysses 38 release for Mac, iPad, and iPhone focuses on expanded library customization for writers. Users can now swap the Projects and Notes sections within the library, offering more flexible navigation. Alongside this, sections such as the Projects Archive or the entire global filter can be hidden as desired, with hidden filters adding an “All” filter in the Notes section for continued access.
Building on these improvements, users have the ability to collapse library sections by tapping titles and can choose whether project content appears in global filters like “All” and “Last 7 Days”. Empty trash and the Projects Archive can now be hidden for a less cluttered workspace. Additionally, the inbox comes with a sheet counter enabled by default, though this can be disabled in settings.
Following interface changes, the iCloud section is now labeled “Notes”, with “On My Device” renamed to “Notes (On My Device)”. The outdated introduction section has been removed, with updated help resources available in the help center. Ulysses 38 has also added over 60 new group icons, following user request.
In terms of fixes, publishing to WordPress now works reliably for sheets with images that include special characters, and group drag-and-drop reordering no longer produces unexpected results.
