Apple to launch a new unified gaming app for iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple TV

Apple is set to introduce a new gaming app designed to unify and centralize the gaming experience across iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple TV. The app will officially be announced at the Worldwide Developers Conference and is expected to launch with the next iOS update in September, replacing the current Game Center app with a single hub to access games and connect with friends, much like Microsoft’s Xbox App for iPhone.

With this update, users will be able to launch games already installed on any supported Apple device and use a unified interface to monitor achievements and leaderboards. Apple will also fold in editorial features, including curated game recommendations and updates.

While the app will promote Apple Arcade, it is not limited to Arcade titles and will support all third-party games listed in the App Store. Notably, the Mac version of the app removes current restrictions by letting users access games not downloaded through the App Store, expanding flexibility for Mac gamers.
