Apple Invites adds external links with customizable titles and open URLs

Apple has released version 1.2 of its Apple Invites app, introducing the ability to add external links to invitations. This update marks the first major feature addition since the app's launch early this year, allowing users to enhance invitations with direct access to resources like trip planning sites, gift registries, or contribution sign-up forms for events such as potlucks.

Users can customize each link with a title and description. Links appear in the new Tiles section, where tapping "Add Tile" lets users include any website URL. This allows hosts to direct invitees to relevant resources for event planning.

The app still supports custom invitations with backgrounds, fonts, directions, and weather details. Creating events requires an iCloud Plus subscription, but RSVPs can be received from both iPhone and Android users, simplifying cross-device coordination.
