OpenProject 15.5 brings descendants of filter, new children column, & better accessibility

OpenProject has released version 15.5 of its open source project management software, featuring new tools and improvements. A significant addition is the descendants of filter, designed to simplify navigation through complex project structures. This filter enables users to view all related work packages under a selected parent, including children and deeper levels, across supported areas like work package tables and agile boards.

The update also introduces a new Children column in work package tables, allowing users to view hierarchical relationships more efficiently. This column displays a clickable dropdown icon and the number of child work packages linked to each parent, streamlining the process without needing additional filters or view changes.

Additionally, OpenProject 15.5 enhances content pipeline management by including the % Complete value in the sum row of work package tables. This feature, along with Work and Remaining work metrics, provides a quick overview of project progress. The update also improves accessibility for users relying on screen readers or keyboard navigation, alongside other minor enhancements and bug fixes.
