OpenAI expands Deep Research features for all users

OpenAI is enhancing its deep research capabilities by introducing a lightweight version for Plus, Team, and Pro users to increase rate limits. This new version, powered by OpenAI o4-mini, offers almost the same intelligence as the original but with shorter responses and reduced costs.

Free users will also gain access to this lightweight version, while Enterprise and Edu users can expect similar privileges next week.
