Intel Unison app to be discontinued by June 2025
Intel Unison, an app that enabled connectivity between Android and iOS devices with Windows 11, will be discontinued by June 2025. This decision was subtly confirmed by Intel through a pop-up notification in the Unison app. Launched in 2022, Unison allowed users to perform tasks such as making calls, messaging, and viewing photos across device, pretty similar Microsoft's Phone Link app.
A notice in the app now states, “It was a great run, but Intel Unison is approaching its sunset at the end of June 2025.” The app will stop service for Windows 11 and Android on June 30, 2025, with a complete shutdown and removal from the Microsoft Store on July 1, 2025. Although some devices might still run Unison after the shutdown, functionality could be limited. HP has confirmed the discontinuation, but Lenovo Aura platforms will continue to support Unison throughout 2025.
Intel acquired the technology from Screenovate for $100 million in 2021, but internal challenges, including significant layoffs, led to the disbanding of the Unison team.
