Cryptomator Hub 1.4.0 enhances security & control with Web of Trust and other improvements
Cryptomator has released version 1.4.0 of Cryptomator Hub, an open source encryption service designed for teams and organizations. This update introduces significant feature enhancements aimed at providing greater control and transparency for users. A key addition is the Web of Trust (WoT), enabling users to verify each other's identities by signing public keys, thereby creating a network of trust to counteract key injection risks.
The update also introduces a create-vaults role, granting admins the ability to manage who can create new vaults, which is particularly beneficial for maintaining order in larger organizations. Additionally, improvements to the audit log enhance the monitoring of security-relevant actions, while the user interface update provides more transparency regarding devices and access patterns.
The release further includes support for more languages, provenance attestations for container images, and various other enhancements and bug fixes, contributing to an improved user experience.
