BitTorrent client qBittorrent 5.1.0 released with several enhancements and bug fixes

qBittorrent, the widely-used P2P BitTorrent client compatible with macOS, Windows, and Linux, has released version 5.1.0, introducing several enhancements and bug fixes. This update allows users to customize the save statistics time interval and adds drag and drop functionality to the torrent content widget. The software can now display external IP addresses in the status bar and utilizes modern functions for generating random numbers on Linux and Windows to enhance security.

Additionally, the update includes the exact length parameter when creating a magnet's Uniform Resource Identifier (URI) and supports fetching the tracker list from a URL. The new version also introduces support for announce_port. On Windows, users can now select a color scheme, while Linux users gain support for the Thunar file manager. On macOS, a shift-click selection issue has also been resolved.

Further improvements include the ability to conduct multiple simultaneous searches across all platforms and enhancements to assistive technologies on the web UI. Numerous other improvements and bug fixes are also part of this release.
