Amazon unveils Nova Reel 1.1, which lets you generate videos up to 2 minutes long
Amazon has announced the release of Nova Reel 1.1, an update to its AI video generation model under the Amazon Nova family. Initially introduced in December 2024, the Nova Reel model enables the creation of short videos from text descriptions and optional reference images. The latest version, Nova Reel 1.1, offers improved quality and reduced latency for generating 6-second single-shot videos compared to its predecessor, Nova Reel 1.0.
The update also introduces the capability to generate multi-shot videos up to 2 minutes in length, maintaining a consistent style across shots. Users can either provide a single prompt for the entire video or customize each shot with individual prompts. This enhancement broadens the possibilities for video content creation through Amazon Bedrock.
For those new to Amazon Nova Reel, access can be requested via the Amazon Bedrock console by navigating to the Model access section. Once granted access, users will have availability to both versions 1.0 and 1.1. Nova Reel 1.1 can then be utilized directly from the Amazon Bedrock console, AWS SDK, or AWS Command Line Interface.
