Spotube 4.0 brings a redesigned UI and other improvements to this free Spotify client
Spotube, an open-source Spotify client compatible with both mobile and desktop platforms, and that doesn't require a premium subscription, has launched its latest version 4.0. This update introduces a new user interface, transitioning from Material V3 to the shadcn-ui design system. The revamped interface offers improved intuitiveness, responsiveness, and adaptability, along with enhanced visuals and an OLED-friendly color palette.
Version 4.0 also integrates support for alternative YouTube engines, utilizing yt-dlp for desktop platforms and NewPipe for Android. Android users can now benefit from home screen widget support, and the update allows for custom editable Piped and Invidious instance support. Additionally, the release addresses issues related to music skipping, buffering, and playback failures, alongside various other improvements and bug fixes to enhance overall usability and stability.
