OpenProject 15.4 brings automatic scheduling, single date mode, and enhanced meetings

OpenProject has launched version 15.4, introducing several new features and enhancements to its open-source project management software. A key addition is the automatic scheduling for work packages, which allows OpenProject to schedule tasks to the earliest possible date based on predecessor or child relations. Initially, new work packages will start in manual scheduling mode, enabling users to set start and end dates manually.

The update also introduces a single date mode for work packages, defaulting to only a finish date unless a date range is necessary. This streamlines workflows for teams that do not require both start and finish dates. Additionally, the Meetings module has been improved with the ability to set outcomes for agenda items, automatically updating related work packages to reflect meeting decisions.

PDF export functionality has been enhanced, allowing users to export only the work package description, formatted specifically for German contracts. While very specific, this enhancement should be appreciated by German users. This feature is expected to evolve with more templates in future updates.
