Nuke 16.0 enhances compositing and review with multishot workflows and GSV integration
Foundry has released NUKE 16.0, featuring new tools aimed at improving compositing and review workflows. A key highlight is the introduction of Multishot Compositing Workflows with Graph Scope Variables (GSV), which allows a single script to be applied to multiple shots, minimizing duplication. Additionally, GSV integration in LiveGroups enhances collaboration by enabling multiple artists to work simultaneously without conflicts.
The update also includes improvements for faster review and feedback, benefiting VFX supervisors and editors with multichannel soft effects for efficient shot previews. Roto node performance has been bolstered for smoother playback and interactivity. The Node Graph Workflow has been streamlined to minimize interruptions, allowing direct viewing and editing of Group Node contents. New Link Nodes ensure updates across linked instances while maintaining optional overrides.
Enhancements to the 3D system include the GeoConstrain node with new constraint types and the new ScanlineRender2 Engine for improved rendering realism. Other features include BlinkScript Editor improvements, a Quick Export feature for faster exporting, and advanced shot comparison capabilities. Nuke 16.0 also supports USD version 24.05, and Command-Line Render now allows specifying variables to streamline rendering tasks.
