Immich 1.131 brings improved maps, full size image previews & enhanced multilingual search

Immich, a self-hosted photo and video management solution, has released version 1.131, introducing several enhancements and bug fixes. The update features an improved map with updated styles, including points of interest like parks and hospitals. The web version also offers a globe view and improved performance for large asset counts, eliminating delays in map responsiveness.

A new setting allows for full size previews, enabling users to zoom into images and view them in full resolution, even for formats not natively supported by browsers, such as HEIC, RAW, and DNG. If the “Display original photos” option is enabled, the full size preview will be shown for web-incompatible formats.

Additionally, Immich 1.131 includes enhanced multilingual searching with NLLB models, along with various other improvements and bug fixes to ensure a more stable user experience. This update further strengthens Immich as an alternative to Google Photos.
