Google to make its biggest acquisition ever by buying cybersecurity company Wiz for $32B

Google has announced its intention to acquire Wiz, a cloud security platform, for approximately $32 billion in an all-cash deal, marking its largest acquisition to date. The transaction, which is still subject to regulatory approvals, will see Wiz's cybersecurity solutions continue to support major cloud platforms like Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, and Oracle Cloud.

Founded five years ago in New York, Wiz is utilized by various organizations, including startups and government agencies, to secure their cloud services. Google has pledged to maintain Wiz's compatibility with these platforms post-acquisition, ensuring that its security services remain accessible through partner solutions and the Google Cloud Marketplace.

This merger strengthens cloud-native application security with Threat Intelligence, AI-driven threat protection, and AI-powered cybersecurity agents, while leveraging Mandiant’s expertise to enhance security strategies. This move is also designed to bolster Google's competitive edge against Microsoft by incorporating Wiz's advanced cloud security technology into its existing services.

Funny because last year, Wiz wanted to go public but it seemed that the company was to deep into debt, and any IPO would fail based of their $12B valuation. But since the company has not became public, we'll never know about their financial situation. Only Google does.
