Framework Mono 6.14 released with native ARM64 support & stability boosts under WineHQ

Framework Mono 6.14 marks its first stable release since 2019, coinciding with its transition to new management under WineHQ in August 2024. This release introduces native ARM64 support for macOS, while System.Windows.Forms sees improvements with fixes for resource leaks, boosting application stability. Additionally, the Clipboard and Drag and Drop features have been overhauled for better usability.

There are also stability enhancements for applications running on X11, alongside significant progress in COM interface generation and process-hang fixes on exit. The Linux amd64 platform benefits from numerous warning fixes, enforced through GitLab CI to ensure code quality. However, Linux armv5te currently faces issues, with a temporary workaround available until a fix is implemented.

The release coincides with libgdiplus 6.2, offered as a source tarball from WineHQ. Both Framework Mono and libgdiplus 6.2 are available exclusively as source code, requiring developers to download from WineHQ. Tested platforms include Linux (x86, amd64, arm64), macOS (amd64, arm64), and Windows (x86, amd64), with Linux amd64 receiving the most extensive testing. Further details can be found in the official release notes.
