Bumble introduces ID verification, share date, and chat moderation features

Bumble has introduced an optional ID verification feature, allowing users to confirm their identity with a government-issued ID. Verified profiles will display an ID verification badge, indicating authenticity to other users. The feature is currently available in 11 markets, including the US and UK, with plans for further expansion. Users can complete verification by uploading a passport or driver’s license and taking a selfie. While not mandatory, users can filter to see only verified profiles and request matches to verify themselves.

Additionally, Bumble is launching Share Date, enabling users to share date details with trusted friends or family. Date details can be updated directly within the app for last-minute changes. A survey revealed that 67% of US dating app users already share date plans with friends, highlighting the feature's convenience.

Bumble is also enhancing its chat moderation system by warning users before sending potentially guideline-violating messages. This alert system, previously available for the Compliments feature, is now extended to regular chat messages.
