1Password's “Nearby Items” feature lets you find passwords based on your physical location

1Password has introduced a new feature allowing users to assign specific locations to items stored in their vaults. This enhancement enables items to appear in the 1Password mobile app when users are near the designated physical locations, facilitating quicker access. Users can benefit from this feature even without remembering an item's name, as proximity to the associated location will automatically surface the relevant information.

To enable this feature, users can edit any item, new or existing, and select “Add a location” to attach one physical location. Upon arriving at the specified location, the item will be displayed in the home tab of the mobile app. A map view is also available for setting and viewing item locations conveniently.

This functionality is versatile, supporting a range of scenarios such as accessing local Wi-Fi credentials, medical records, workplace alarm codes, or travel documents at airports. Importantly, 1Password ensures that location data is neither stored, shared, nor tracked, maintaining user privacy.

Great, another attack point for sensitive meta-data, location spoofing, and otherwise increasing predictability (location-based patterning).

How long does it take to start typing in "planet" to bring up your gym membership?

Alternatively, https://github.com/KieronQuinn/Smartspacer has "AI-esque requirements system, to make information shown more dynamic - want to show your gym pass at the gym or your loyalty card and shopping list at the store? Smartspacer can do that."
