Windsurf Editor Wave 3 update brings MCP support, turbo mode, tab to jump & custom icons
Windsurf Editor has unveiled its Wave 3 update, introducing the Model Context Protocol (MCP) support, which allows Cascade to access structured data from external sources using JSON-configured MCP servers. This new feature enables actions like code searching and terminal command execution, currently available for individual users and soon for Teams and Enterprise plans.
The update also includes "tab-to-jump," enhancing predictive AI navigation in the text editor, and expands Supercomplete suggestions with unlimited autocomplete for all users. Paid users receive additional benefits, such as unlimited tab-to-jump suggestions and a high-performance "Fast Mode."
Moreover, Cascade's new Turbo Mode facilitates the autonomous execution of terminal commands, streamlining workflow automation for individual users. The update also introduces drag-and-drop functionality for images, improving efficiency in tasks like website building. Additionally, Mac users with paid plans can now customize app icons in the dock.
