Opera Developer introduces Aria AI memory feature for enhanced user interactions

Opera has launched a new memory feature for its Aria AI in Opera Developer, aimed at improving user interactions by recalling details from previous conversations. Users have full control over Aria's Memory through a dedicated interface, allowing them to manage stored information by enabling, disabling, or deleting it as needed.

Unlike traditional AI models, Aria’s Memory doesn't store data within the language model itself but instead provides context alongside prompts. Its Memory is encrypted using Fernet symmetric encryption, and the encryption key is kept solely in the user's browser. The memory feature is not enabled by default; users must manually activate it through Aria’s settings in Opera Developer.

Users can manage stored information via the Aria Memory settings, with options to delete specific details or erase all data. A banner will notify users when Aria updates its Memory, indicating that new relevant details have been stored. If activated, Aria Memory can use past interactions to offer personalized recommendations.
