Apple TV+ app is finally available on Android phones for streaming and offline viewing

Apple has officially launched the Apple TV app for Android phones, marking its debut on Android smartphones. The app is available for free download on Google Play, allowing users to access Apple TV+ and MLS Season Pass content. Users can sign up for the Apple TV+ streaming service directly from the app, with a 7-day free trial available for new subscribers.

The app is designed with Google's Material Design principles to ensure a seamless experience for users on Android devices running Android 10 or higher. The app also offers offline viewing, enabling content downloads for times when internet access is limited.

Cross-device syncing allows users to switch between Apple and Android devices without losing their place in a show or movie. The app is globally available, unlike some Apple services that are region-locked. This release marks the first time Apple TV is accessible on Android smartphones, although it has been available on Android TV devices previously.

Apple TV+ is a video streaming service that allows users to continue watching their favorite shows and movies, discover new content, and explore new video apps all in one place. Key features include ad-free viewing, support for 4K resolution, and a dark mode option. Rated 3, it faces competition from alternatives like Netflix, Prime Video, and Trakt.tv.

...or they will slowly die! I wish that was the case with Final Cut though.

Just like Facetime and Maps, it may be because they've been expecting more and more growth but now things are stagnating. As big as Netflix it, it represents only 10% of the streaming watch time. The market is over saturated and prices continue to hike, so opening their service to more users can be a cheap move, at least in the short term.
