Apple launches Invites, a new event planning app with management tools & shared albums
Apple has unveiled "Invites," a new app for event planning tailored for organizing various gatherings like birthdays and vacations. The app offers seamless integration with iOS, iCloud, and Apple Music, allowing users to create and share invitations are easily created while also capturing memories post-event through shared albums. Users can customize invitations with images from the Photos app, Apple’s built-in images, or emoji backgrounds, and can also modify fonts.
"Invites" incorporates data from Apple Maps and Apple Weather apps, providing invitees with location details and real-time weather updates. It also features AI tools such as Image Playground for generating custom images and Writing Tools for refining text. The app includes RSVP tracking for managing guest responses and supports collaborative music playlists, enabling attendees to add songs during events. A shared photo and video album is available for guests to contribute and view event memories.
The app is exclusive to iCloud+ subscribers, who can create and send invitations, while anyone can RSVP. iCloud+ plans start at $0.99 per month. "Invites" requires iOS 18 or later and is available for free download from the App Store.
