AI photo app PhotoPrism releases major update with refreshed UI, 3D earth view & much more
PhotoPrism, an AI-driven photo application for the decentralized web, has rolled out a significant update. This latest version introduces an overhauled user interface with various usability improvements and new features. Among these are a hybrid photo and video viewer replacing the former dedicated video player, a redesigned and more responsive edit dialog, and a new immersive 3D earth view in the Places feature.
The update also brings several layout optimizations for right-to-left languages. In the photo viewer, users will notice higher resolution thumbnails when zooming into images, and videos will now autoplay during slideshows. Enhancements to the search feature include video duration displayed on thumbnails in both cards and mosaic views, with cards view consistently showing filenames and camera details for videos.
The Places feature benefits from an updated MapLibre GL JavaScript library and refreshed OpenStreetMap data, with improved accuracy as locations are no longer estimated for non-photographic images. Additional improvements include enhanced metadata handling and various bug fixes.
