Spline adds 3D capabilities to its real time design canvas Hana
Spline has added 3D capabilities to Hana, its real time design canvas, allowing 2D and 3D elements to be created and edited side by side. Built on a real time rendering foundation, Hana now handles both dimensions on a single canvas without requiring separate preview or render steps.
Any 2D shape can be converted into a 3D object while keeping a live connection, so changes to the original shape immediately update the 3D result. Both 2D and 3D elements run on the same runtime and effects pipeline, enabling consistent transformations and visual effects across the canvas while addressing quality factors like anti aliasing, resolution, and geometric complexity.
Hana keeps the entire workflow in one place instead of relying on exports or external tools, but its 3D feature set is still limited. Current support focuses on shape extrusion and basic material controls, with broader 3D capabilities and more complex scene support planned for future updates.
