Samsung Health will cut Fitness Program content and add a new Noise tracking tool
Samsung has begun notifying some users that several Fitness Program content services in its Samsung Healt app will be discontinued with its next app update in December. The change affects parts of the Fitness tab, notably programs offered via downloads or that were uploaded before December 31, 2022. Only real-time streaming content in the Fitness Program section will remain available after the update. Samsung cautions users that attempting to access discontinued items from earlier app versions may lead to errors.
While it is still unclear whether this update is linked directly to One UI 8.5 or will release separately, One UI 8.5 itself also brings expanded weekly reports that now summarize movement metrics and sleep quality. The update also introduces dedicated sections for medication tracking and mindfulness evaluations. In addition, users will soon be able to enhance their activity posts by adding photos, making shared entries more visually engaging than the previous text-only format.
Samsung Health is also preparing a Noise feature that monitors ambient sound and alerts users when levels exceed chosen thresholds. It appears as a hidden card in version 6.31.2.003 and works with Galaxy smartwatch and phone microphones. The tool displays daily averages, uses color coded decibel indicators, lets users set limits between 80 and 100 decibels, logs alerts over time, and can notify users when their phone’s audio output surpasses the selected level.
