PhotoPrism adds batch metadata editing, better facial recognition & Ollama/OpenAI support
PhotoPrism's latest November update introduces several highly requested features and performance enhancements. For users who manage large photo collections, the new batch edit dialog allows simultaneous editing of metadata across multiple pictures, streamlining the organizational process.
On the artificial intelligence front, the upgraded face recognition pipeline now generates more and better matches, improving automatic identification accuracy. Building on these AI advancements, PhotoPrism adds direct integration with both Ollama and OpenAI services, enabling automatic caption and label generation for images.
Expanding AI flexibility further, this release includes support for custom TensorFlow models, more refined configuration settings, and new scheduling options to give advanced users greater control over their workflows.
Following these core upgrades, users will also notice a range of usability improvements. These include a new option to change the cover image associated with a person entry, as well as updated software dependencies and a broader set of language translations. Collectively, these changes enhance performance and make PhotoPrism more accessible to an international audience.
