/e/OS 3.3 brings improved Murena Workspace integration and tracking notification removal

/e/OS 3.3 is now available, representing the next iteration of this open source, privacy-focused mobile operating system. The release upgrades the platform base to LineageOS 22.2, which brings the latest security updates and bug fixes to users. Building on core features, the Account Manager now includes OpenID Connect support for Murena Workspace authentication. Additionally, when users change their workspace password, the app now prompts them to enter the new password, avoiding confusing errors.

Following direct user input, the development team has removed permanent notifications related to real time tracking that were introduced in the previous version. This change addresses widespread feedback and streamlines the notification experience. In the App Lounge app store, the user interface now marks unrated apps as N/A, replacing the former display of 0. The search function also highlights up to three open-source applications by default, improving visibility for privacy-friendly choices.

For device compatibility, Android Auto is now supported on systems running AOSP 15. Additional improvements include an enhanced calculator application, a refreshed live caption function, updated microG, upgraded firmware for the Fairphone 5, improvements for the Fairphone 6, and a range of bug fixes that contribute to greater system stability and ease of use.
