Trakt unveils a full redesign of its movie and TV tracking platform for web and mobile
Trakt.tv has launched a redesigned web experience under Project LITE, now serving as the foundation for its entire ecosystem. The update replaces the previous interface as The New Trakt. During the transition, Trakt Classic will stay supported in maintenance mode, with all user data including accounts, watchlists, and history fully synchronized between both versions.
The new interface introduces a modern and larger UI design across web, iOS, Android, Apple TV, and Android TV, with improved performance, reliability, and accessibility for more regions and devices. This rebuild aims to accelerate future feature development while maintaining the shared community experience and integration with third-party apps. The platforms is also encouraging third-party developers to build their own implementations of features like Up Next, notifications, and filtering.
However, early community response has been mostly negative, with users describing the LITE version as incomplete and less functional than Trakt Classic. Complaints include missing features, cluttered layouts such as the persistent Now Playing section, and usability issues across desktop and mobile. Many long-time and VIP users have asked for Trakt Classic to remain available due to its stability and richer set of tools.

man, Trakt is absolute trash... they removed must have features like default lists like Plant To Watch, On Hold, Dropped etc and replaced them with custom lists with which I was okay until they limited all lists to a maximum of 100 items which is extremely dumb... and also the redesign looks stupid as hell, I can't understand what the hell am I looking at... to this day there isn't a single best way to keep track of movies/shows, Simkl comes very close but they intentionally hide information on actors which is in my opinion an essential feature for keeping track of who's who and which roles they play...
Yep, I’ve been using Trakt for more than 10 years now, but I completely agreed with you on the limit for lists, without mentioning the huge recent price hike for their paid tier.
