Tower 15 for Mac debuts automatic branch management and macOS 26 Tahoe support
Tower 15 for Mac has been released, introducing automatic branch management designed to reduce sidebar clutter from old, merged, or inactive branches. New 'Fully Merged' and 'Stale' badges in the Branches sidebar enable users to spot inactive branches, while selecting these branches reveals a hint view with a single-click deletion option. Users can also set Tower to automatically archive suggested branches and trigger this process via notifications in the sidebar footer.
The new Archived Branches view lets users hide branches manually by dragging them or using the context menu, with support for bulk actions when archiving, unarchiving, pinning, or unpinning. A skips auto archiving flag prevents selected or pinned branches from being archived automatically, and pinned branches are now stored in the Git configuration to avoid accidental unpinning and to preserve their status when restored.
The History view now shows the fork point for each branch, highlighting unique commits or indicating when none exist. Tower 15 also adds support for macOS 26 Tahoe with updated icons, refreshed appearance options, and a redesigned sidebar footer, alongside a set of stability improvements and bug fixes.
